First off, I know an all-day elopement might sound a little daunting. I’m sure the idea of having a camera in your face all day doesn’t sound very fun. That’s not at all what an all-day elopement truly is.

I’ll join you for a few sessions throughout the day that we’ve intentionally scheduled. Whether that’s waking up early to catch the first glimpse of Skógafoss in Iceland or booking time for dune buggies on the beach, this day is about exactly what you want it to be. We can dress it up and photograph you on a mountain side, or make it super intimate inside a cool airbnb playing checkers.

There are some big thing you need to ask yourself when starting to plan your day. 


Our Process

Destination elopement, local wedding or micro wedding, we will be there! Through the planning process we will have a customized timeline of your entire day. We will already know what you'd like your day to look like, from sun up to sun down! We will help make your plans to continue the celebration after your' vows.

Once you're officially a Birchwood couple, we can start the planning process! Everything from your dream location to the fine details of your perfect day, I'm here for it all- every step of the way!  
I will be there to listen to you on where you'd like to go, when you'd like to go and the best time of year to go there.

Well Hello!
First things first — I’m really glad you’re here.
Second, hi. I’m Elizabeth, and I hate hiking. I love to travel, which makes zero sense. If I can get somewhere with minimal hiking, that’s my kind of adventure. Walk-up locations are my jam, but I will hike if it means epic images. Just know it might take me a hot second to get there.
Photography runs in my blood. I come from a line of photographers and followed in my grandpa's footsteps. He started photography when he was in the Navy stationed in Antartica with the penguins. Still, it was my first photography class in high school that truly pulled me in. This was before digital took over, when film and darkrooms mattered — and the darkroom quickly became my second home.
I’m the mama to five beautiful babies — four here with me and one forever held in heaven. I still can’t quite believe I have a teenager already, and somehow the days feel long while the years move incredibly fast. My children are the heartbeat behind everything I do, the reason I love so deeply, create so intentionally, and hold moments a little tighter. I know how fleeting moments are and I love being able to snag a moment in time to cherish it forever.
 I found out very quickly when I started photographing destination weddings, traveling alone was no fun. After a very lonely weekend in Punta Cana I said "no more" and now Joel is right there with me for every destination wedding. He’s my husband, my best friend, my personal comedian, my photography partner, and the person beside me with every destination or when a wedding calls for two photographers.
Joel started photography in high school, just like I did, and never really put the camera down. While styles and tools have evolved over the years, the heart behind the work hasn’t changed — capturing honest moments, meaningful connection, and light as it naturally unfolds.
I truly hope I'll get to know more about you, but I hope this gives you a little insight to who I am and why I am so passionate about my work.

My Own Love Story

Joel and I are a husband-and-wife photography team based in the small but mighty town of Juda, Wisconsin. We really are exactly as we seem. Photography was the very first thing we connected over, and when he bought me my first big girl camera, I knew he was the one.
We’ve been married for 15 years (yes — we were basically babies when we said “I do”), and somehow we still genuinely love being together. Traveling together, working together, building a life together — it all just works. That love for adventure and creativity naturally grew into a life spent photographing love stories.
We’re raising five children — four here with us and one little boy forever held in heaven — and they are the heart of everything we do. These days, life looks a little different than our farmette era. The chickens are gone, but we now share our home with two dogs: a golden retriever (clearly my influence) and a dachshund (very much Joel’s). It’s a full, beautiful life, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
